The Assistant Manager, Business Development plays a vital role in identifying and executing strategic growth opportunities for the company. Operating within the Singapore Business Unit, this role supports revenue expansion, market penetration, and business innovation across multiple functional areas. The incumbent will work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to drive initiatives related to Partnerships, Financial Products, Credit, Sales, Operations, Client Experience and Collections. The role requires strong commercial acumen, problem-solving skills, and a proactive, adaptable mindset to align with evolving business priorities.
What you will do:
Strategy and Opportunity Development
- Identify, evaluate, and propose new business opportunities aligned with the company's growth objectives.
- Support the development of go-to-market strategies for new and existing financial products and services.
Market Research and Competitive Intelligence
- Conduct thorough market research and data analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning.
- Generate actionable insights to support product development, market entry strategies, and campaign planning.
Strategic Partnerships and Alliances
- Identify, establish, and maintain relationships with key partners, including platforms, associations, and service providers, etc
- Support partnership onboarding and ongoing performance tracking to ensure mutual value creation.
Cross-functional Project Execution
- Collaborate with teams in Credit, Sales, Operations, Client Experience and Collections to align on business goals and execute joint initiatives.
- Act as a liaison between departments to ensure smooth implementation of projects and process improvements.
Operational Process Improvement
- Review and refine business processes and SOPs to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to implement process enhancements that improve customer experience and internal effectiveness.
Ad-hoc Initiatives and Business Agility
- Take on special projects and cross-team tasks based on changing business needs.
- Demonstrate flexibility and initiative in responding to dynamic market conditions or internal priorities.
What we are looking for:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in business development, strategy, partnerships, or a cross-functional commercial role.
- Experience in financial services, fintech, or lending is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong business acumen and analytical thinking.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high attention to detail.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and fast-changing environments.
