Mercer

Description:

What you can expect:

Join Mercer’s rapidly growing global Investments business, now the world’s largest provider of OCIO (Outsourced Chief Investment Officer) services, with over $613 billion in assets under management and $17.5 trillion in assets under advisement. You will have direct exposure to senior leaders and investment decision-makers across our Investment, Client, Sales, and Operations teams.

As part of our Business Development Unit, you will support sales leaders with significant new-business opportunities across pension, not-for-profit, insurance, and wealth-management sectors. This is a team-based role, not direct sales, where you will influence win rates through high-quality materials, support, and proactive thinking.

In this central team, you will deepen your knowledge of various investment topics, including strategy-setting, private markets investing, ESG investing, and capital markets. You will also refine your project management skills, communicate key messages concisely, and manage diverse personality types both internally and externally.

This diverse skill set will open various long-term career paths within business development and beyond. We are a high-performing business with a strong culture of inclusivity, diversity, and teamwork. We offer generous study-support packages (e.g., CFA) and are committed to career development and work-life balance.

We will rely on you to:

• Collaborate closely with Middle East sales and commercial leadership on all aspects of sales and business development, demonstrating ownership of key deliverables, including new business proposals and pitch materials.
• Support and influence business development initiatives, such as rolling out new tools, product launches, marketing strategies, and market research. This will involve collaborating with Mercer colleagues globally across investment, operational, client, and consulting teams.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of Mercer’s investment research and client solutions to effectively communicate with colleagues and prospective clients.

What you need to have:

• A third-level qualification with a strong academic record and a keen interest in capital markets and the investment industry (CFA and actuarial candidates welcome).
• Native Arabic and fluent English.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong IT skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and the ability to adapt to other tools.
• Energy, proactivity, and attention to detail.
• The ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders, and deliverables simultaneously.
• Proven team player characteristics and strong interpersonal skills.

What makes you stand out:

• Experience in business development and preparing business proposals for presentation.
• Understanding of the institutional investment landscape and structures, particularly in private markets investing (e.g., private equity/private debt).
• Creative thinking with high standards of output and the ability to produce concise written materials.
• The ability to communicate complex issues simply and coherently.
