The Director of Client Success, Benefit Consulting Practice, is responsible for leading strategic client engagement efforts to drive value, long-term client retention, and increased voluntary benefits revenue for Businessolver’s Benefits Consulting Practice (BCP). This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to clients and client teams, leveraging the Pinnacle Partner relationships and services to align with the strategic objectives of employer groups. The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of the voluntary benefit landscape and a consultative sales mindset to effectively manage and expand executive-level relationships. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Comprehensive understanding and continued education on voluntary benefit market including plan designs, innovative strategies, pricing, and trends. 
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to clients senior-level stakeholders (Sr. Director and above), by developing a deep understanding of their business goals and aligning BCP’s solutions to meet those objectives.  
  • Conduct regular client meetings to ensure strategic alignment, review key business initiatives, and identify areas for value creation. Proactively engage with clients on the BCP financial model including commissions, distributions and/or tech credits, and the value and services provided by Businessolver supported with such dollars.  
  • Ensure coordination of any new or changing voluntary benefit offerings between the carriers, the clients and Businessolver’s Client Services team. Advise Businessolver’s Onboarding and Client Services team on new or changing voluntary benefit offerings. Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure effective communications and engagement strategies are being utilized to drive optimal enrollment and utilization of voluntary benefit products. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with BCP’s Pinnacle Partners through attendance at stewardship meetings and pipeline reviews.  

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience in client success or consulting within voluntary benefits or related industries. 
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, required 
  • Life, Health & Accident licenses are required, or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment; maintain annually  
  • In-depth knowledge of employee benefits with a focus on voluntary benefits, web-based benefit technologies, human resources, or healthcare solutions. 
  • Experience managing large employer groups (10,000+ employees). 
  • Demonstrated success in client retention, revenue growth, and renewals. 
  • Strong data analysis and presentation skills with the ability to align metrics with client objectives. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Proven track record in executive-level relationship management and strategic consulting. 
  • Ability to navigate complex client environments and influence stakeholders across various levels. 
  • High adaptability and comfort in a fast-paced, dynamic client-facing role. 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends.

  • Net Retention Rate 
  • Annual Upsell/Cross-Sell Revenue Target Achievement 
  • Client Strategic Alignment and Consultative Engagement Quality 

The pay range for this position is 141K to 176K per year (pay to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data). 

This role is eligible to participate in the annual bonus incentive plan.
