Whirlpool Corporation is seeking a Director, Builder Sales to lead our sales strategy and drive growth within our complex, multi-brand builder portfolio. This role requires a leader who can manage a full profit and loss (P&L) statement, make strategic investment decisions, and navigate a competitive landscape with multiple channels and customers. You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy, ensuring cross-functional alignment, and fostering strong relationships with both internal teams and external customers.
Sales & Customer Management:
Own the complete P&L for the national builder business, making key investment and trade-off decisions to maximize profitability.
Develop and execute a strategic sales plan across a complex portfolio of brands, channels, and customer segments.
Collaborate effectively with multiple external customers and internal stakeholders, including merchandising, supply chain, and brand teams, to drive sales growth.
Merchandising & Go-to-Market (GTM):
Partner with merchandising to co-develop pricing and promotional strategies for both new and existing products.
Leverage strong financial and analytical skills to maximize value extraction and ensure market competitiveness.
Supply Chain & Operations:
Demonstrate a solid understanding of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) to balance product availability with operational efficiency.
Manage cross-functional partnerships with merchandising and Integrated Supply Chain (ISC) to ensure a seamless order fulfillment process.
Identify, structure, and lead continuous improvement projects focused on enhancing order fulfillment and systems integration.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
Understand and manage the interdependencies between brand strategy, product development, merchandising, and ISC as they relate to the sales process.
Provide critical sales and customer input to cross-functional partners to maximize enterprise value and promote a "One Whirlpool" approach.
Navigate and mitigate potential cross-channel conflicts, balancing growth in the traditional builder business with risks from retail pricing and big-box professional channels.
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and develop a high-performing sales team, effectively managing conflict and fostering a collaborative environment.
Act as a catalyst for change, embedding new processes and priorities into the organization.
Demonstrate a strong sense of curiosity, constantly seeking new opportunities and driving transformational results.
Bachelor's degree.
10+ years of progressive sales experience.
5+ years in a senior sales leadership role managing a team with success in achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
Demonstrated experience with P&L ownership and accountability for a significant business unit or channel.
Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time.
MBA or a related Master's degree.
5+ years of builder sales experience with a strong network within the national builder, architect, or designer community.
Experience with home appliance and/or consumer product goods sales.
Expertise in strategic sales planning, including go-to-market (GTM) strategy, pricing, and promotional programs.
Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and advanced data analysis tools with proven analytical skills and ability to use data to drive insight selling.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence C-level executives and key stakeholders.
Demonstrated understanding of S&OP processes and supply chain dynamics.
