Why does this role exist?

The Finance Manager will own our ecommerce/DTC client's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and efficiency as they scale. From reporting and bookkeeping to payroll and billing, you'll keep their financial engine running smoothly while spotting opportunities to improve processes. Success in this role means delivering reliable financial insights, ensuring smooth cash flow, and building systems that support growth in the competitive DTC landscape.

This is a strategic role (60% strategic planning, 40% hands-on execution) perfect for a finance professional ready to build something from the ground up.  You'll be the architect of their finance function, creating the foundation for rapid growth. 

What You'll Own

Strategic Finance Operations (60%)

  • Structure the entire finance function from current unorganized state
  • Create comprehensive SOPs for all financial processes and procedures
  • Design scalable financial systems to support company growth
  • Develop strategic financial insights and recommendations for leadership
  • Build cross-departmental financial workflows and coordination processes

Execution & Implementation (40%)

  • Execute month-end closing procedures and ensure reporting accuracy
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations including AP/AR, payroll coordination
  • Handle ecommerce financial reconciliation across multiple sales channels
  • Process invoices and payments while maintaining accurate documentation
  • Support inventory management and cost analysis for DTC operations

Team & Growth Leadership

  • Collaborate with 1-2 Financial Assistants in lean team structure
  • Work across departments as needed in dynamic startup environment
  • Prepare for team growth as finance function expands
  • Mentor and train team members on new processes and systems
