Position Overview:
This is a Presales Solution Consultant role focused on our industry cloud strategy while supporting cloud environments leveraged for sales pursuits. The position reports to the Life Sciences, Consumer Products & Retail, and Energy & Utilities Vertical Sales Organization.
Understanding cloud architecture, IT infrastructure, and our product deployment architecture is a critical component of the Siemens Digital Industries suite of software products. With a large focus on cloud and SaaS deployments, it is necessary to effectively communicate internal and external stakeholder requirements between our customers, the sales teams, zone product support teams, and the cloud managed services teams.
As a presales solution consultant, you will lead prospects through value-based conversations and demonstrations around cloud, SaaS and IT architecture while also communicating the customer requirements to the cloud services team. You will understand and communicate product capabilities available on the cloud as well as our SaaS offerings, understanding both the capabilities and limitations around cloud and SaaS deployments. You will also manage internal cloud environments that will be used for both customer demonstrations as well as proof-of-concepts and customer benchmarks.
Responsibilities:
The role requires the understanding cloud and IT architecture, as well as the capabilities and limitations of Siemens products on the cloud. We then focus on delivering value-based prescriptive solutions through presentations and software demonstrations during the sales process. This position will also help educate and support other presales consultants such that they are able to deliver introductory presentations on cloud and SaaS.
Additional Details
· Maintain an in-depth level of understanding of cloud strategy, cloud security and IT architecture
· Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) including multi-tier server deployment, IT systems administration and management, load balancing, and security
· Effectively communicate with both the customer and internal Siemens stakeholders, specifically, the sales, presales, and cloud managed services teams.
· Maintain high level product implementation knowledge for architecting and deploying Siemens software on the cloud
· Enhance sales collaterals around cloud and SaaS for more effective engagements
· Respond promptly and professionally to requests for support from Presales and Sales, maintaining a schedule of commitments
o Support requests could include demonstrations, benchmarks, responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) etc.
· Present and demonstrate cloud and SaaS solutions in sales pursuits. Presentations are tailored to the specific needs of a customer with an emphasis on business value
· Work with customers in a consultative mode to assist in their deployments and further implementation of the cloud solutions
· Maintain an up-to-date understanding of product capabilities and be able to clearly communicate to Product Development any gaps that have an impact on customer success, including continuous improvements of our software integrations
· Manage presales demonstration cloud environments including installation, configuration, upgrades and patches, integrations between software products, and product administration and data loading
Required Background/Skills, Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering; or other Engineering Bachelor’s degree with specific work experience in cloud and large IT infrastructure deployments and management
· 3-5 years in the management of information systems, IT systems administration, cloud computing, and enterprise software management or equivalent experience
· IT architecture experience for cloud and SaaS enterprise software
· Prior experience with AWS cloud
· High level product implementation knowledge of PLM solutions and relevant tools
· Self-supporting, able to work without supervision
· Proven ability to solve problems in difficult situations
· Excellent communication and presentation skills is required
· High level of initiative, teamwork, flexibility, willing to learn

Preferred Background/Skills, Education and Experience:
· AWS certification preferred
· CISA certification preferred
· Several years’ experience in Presales or Service/consulting roles is preferred (preferably in the software industry)
