McKesson Medical-Surgical is seeking a detail-oriented, technically proficient Sales Quoting Analyst to support the creation of customer quotes by cross-referencing competitive item data (e.g., from invoices or purchase histories) with internal product catalogs. This role plays a critical function within our Sales Operations team, helping sales and customer service teams deliver accurate, competitive, and scalable quotes.

The ideal candidate brings strong SQL skills, light experience with ETL pipelines or Python, and is comfortable navigating item master data, pricing files, and sales tools. This is a high-impact role that bridges data operations with frontline sales efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Competitive Item Cross-Referencing: Interpret and ingest customer-provided documents (e.g., invoices from competitors) and identify internal equivalent products using item mapping logic and internal tooling.
  • Quote Support & Data Preparation: Deliver clean, structured data files for sales and customer service teams to use in quoting tools or direct proposals.
  • ETL & Automation: Develop repeatable pipelines to support automated matching, quote preparation, and reporting.
  • Pricing Validation: Ensure accuracy of pricing logic by working closely with pricing and contracting teams.
  • Item Master Governance: Maintain and validate mappings between internal SKUs and competitive equivalents.
  • Tool Enablement: Support integration of quoting logic into CRM, CPQ, or Excel-based quoting systems as needed.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Sales Ops, IT, Product Data, and field sales teams to build scalable workflows for quoting and customer acquisition.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in data analysis, quoting operations, or a similar role.
  • Experience working in a sales or customer service-facing analytics capacity is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • SQL proficiency (required); ability to write complex joins and transformations.
  • Familiarity with Python or similar scripting for automation (preferred).
  • Experience working with product master datapricing files, or ERP item catalogs.
  • Understanding of Excel-based quotingCPQ systems, or CRM quoting workflows (Salesforce, etc.).
  • Bonus: Experience with ETL tools or data wrangling libraries like Pandas.

Soft Skills:

  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and incomplete data inputs.
  • Strong communicator with ability to support both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Customer-first mindset — understands how data accuracy impacts revenue and trust.

Career Level Expections:

  • Problem Complexity: Resolves moderately complex business challenges with structured solutions. Demonstrates initiative in improving quoting or item match logic.
  • Work Supervision: Operates with general oversight and prioritizes deliverables with minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • Knowledge & Development: Applies broad understanding of product data and quote systems; learning advanced pipeline and automation skills over time.
