Summary
We are looking for a passionate and strategic Sales Trainer to lead training initiatives for our sales force targeting general pediatricians and prenatal care providers in the rare disease genetics landscape. This role is critical in ensuring that our commercial team is equipped with the skills, knowledge, and clinical understanding needed to engage effectively with healthcare professionals who play a pivotal role in the early identification of rare diseases.
As part of the Commercial Training team, you’ll design and execute training programs that bridge the gap between complex genomic science and real-world clinical conversations. Your focus will be on new hire onboarding, ongoing education, and field readiness, ensuring alignment with our company’s mission to advance earlier and more accurate diagnoses through cutting-edge genetic testing.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and deliver impactful training programs, in the new hire period as well as continuous education, tailored to the general pediatrician call point, emphasizing clinical utility, test positioning, disease awareness, and ethical considerations.
- Develop role-specific onboarding for new sales hires focused on core competencies, such as diagnostic pathways in pediatrics, prenatal screening and testing protocols, and patient advocacy.
- Conduct live and virtual training sessions, workshops, and certifications, using adult learning principles and modern instructional techniques.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Product, and Sales Leadership to ensure scientific accuracy, market relevance, and compliance.
- Create and maintain a library of training materials, including e-learning modules, case studies, objection handling tools, role-play guides, and clinical data summaries.
- Stay current on pediatric and prenatal care trends, rare disease diagnostics, and regulatory guidance related to genetic testing (e.g., AAP, NSGC, ACMG, ACOG, SMFM).
- Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to field representatives, especially in translating clinical insights into compelling conversations with generalist physicians.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, field performance, and feedback loops; iterate content and strategy based on outcomes and business needs.
- Continuously update training materials based on product launches, market changes, and field feedback.
- Enable and facilitate thoughtful pull through training and content for relevant competencies as well as stretch topics.
- Build meaningful and reliable lines of transparent communication amongst end users, including Regional Account Executives (RAEs) and Regional Sales Directors (RSDs).
- Support continuing education efforts and periodic training for tenured reps as needed.
- Own all administrative aspects of this role. This includes LMS components, slide decks, enablement resources, calendar invites, follow up emails, etc.

SEQUENCING HAS THE POWER TO SOLVE DIAGNOSTIC CHALLENGES.
From sequencing to reporting and beyond, our technical and clinical experts are providing guidance every step of the way:
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
- High-quality testing: Our laboratory is CLIA certified and CAP accredited and most of our tests are also New York State approved.
- Advanced detection: By interrogating genes for complex variants, we can identify the underlying causes of conditions that may otherwise be missed.
CLINICAL EXPERTISE
- Thorough analysis: We classify variants according to our custom adaptation of the most recent guidelines. We then leverage our rich internal database for additional interpretation evidence.
- Customized care: Our experts review all test results and write reports in a clear, concise, and personalized way. We also include information for research studies in specific clinical situations.
- Impactful discovery: Our researchers continue working to find answers even after testing is complete. Through both internal research efforts and global collaborations, we have identified and published hundreds of new disease-gene relationships and developed novel tools for genomic data analysis. These efforts ultimately deliver more diagnostic findings to individuals.
