What You Will Be Doing

As the Salesforce Technical Lead, you will:

  • Architect and lead the integration of Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Life Sciences Cloud (LSC) with CRM systems (e.g., Veeva), content platforms, and enterprise tools.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—Campaign Solution Architects, Digital Production Leads, and business stakeholders—to deliver seamless, multi-channel digital campaigns.

  • Drive advanced configuration and personalization using Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, Cloud Pages, AMPscript, SSJS, and HTML/CSS/JavaScript.

  • Manage data modeling, automation workflows, and complex SQL queries for segmentation and dynamic content.

  • Oversee API integrations, CI/CD pipelines, and multi-org connectors using tools like Git and Jenkins.

  • Provide technical consultation, perform QA, root cause analysis, and support (Level 2–3).

  • Lead platform release management, technical debt assessments, and innovation initiatives including AI.

  • Ensure compliance with architecture principles, governance, security, and regulatory standards.

  • Translate complex marketing and technical requirements into actionable user stories and specifications.

  • Support change management and organizational adoption through vendor coordination and OCM planning.

Your Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering OR related field OR 7+ years of relevant IT/programming experience.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, etc.).

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications (Administrator, Email Specialist, Developer, Consultant).

  • Expertise in AMPscript, SSJS, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, SQL, and relational databases.

  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, web protocols (HTTP, AJAX, XML, jQuery).

  • Proven success in large enterprise environments with legacy system integrations.

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status)

Desirable Qualifications

  • UX design experience and familiarity with the Pharma/Healthcare industry.

  • Understanding of Agile frameworks (e.g., SAFe).

  • Experience with AWS, Power BI, PowerApps, SharePoint, Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud, Data Cloud, Azure B2B.

  • Vendor management and ability to translate ambiguity into actionable plans.

  • Experience collaborating with campaign owners, solution architects, product owners, and Scrum Masters.

  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Agile experience and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Self-motivated and proactive learner.

  • Proven success in large enterprise environments with legacy system integrations.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$64,500 - $151,800

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
