Position Overview 

We are searching for an entrepreneurial self-starter with a hunter mentality who enjoys working in a fast-paced , matrixed organization with a complex customer set – the Federal Civilian Agencies. This role will report directly to the Head of Federal Vertical Market in Siemens Smart Infrastructure.

This individual will lead Federal Business Development for U.S. Federal Civilian Agencies activities within the Federal Vertical. This role will work in full collaboration with sales executives, sales leadership, and executive management. They will generate new customer acquisition, uncover, and qualify opportunities by driving early decision-maker engagement directly with the Federal Government. This individual will develop and establish strong ongoing relationships with critical end-users, program offices, contracting personnel, A/E design firms, engineering stakeholders, general contractors, electrical contractors, small businesses, strategic teaming partnerships and industry stakeholders. 

This position will be remote in the continental US

Role Description

  • Develop account growth strategies for new customer acquisition, business development and customer relationship management for Federal Civilian Agencies.
  • Create and execute strategic account plans with long term vision and tactical actions by understanding Federal Civilian Agencies mission priorities, strategic initiatives, funding and regulatory requirements to enable growth.
  • Build pipeline of new opportunities and strategic projects to achieve targeted year-over-year growth in each agency account.
  • Lead early identification, qualification, and win strategy of new business opportunities along with Federal ecosystem partnerships to support sales executives.
  • Leverage product segment leadership to customize and co-create Building Automation, Fire and Security solutions, and electrical products to meet Federal Civilian Agencies requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Federal Civilian Agencies end-users, Federal prime contractors, Federal A/E design firms and Small/Disadvantaged contractors that work with the Federal Civilian Agencies .
  • Mentor, coach and support the sales executives as the Federal Civilian Agencies subject matter expert during customer engagements, Request for Information (RFIs), Request for Proposal/Quote (RFP/RFQ), Siemens Contract Vehicles, and as needed for win strategies.
  • Align go-to-market strategy with Segment Leaders, Cybersecurity, Business Excellence, and System Integrators to deliver cohesive Federal solutions.
  • Represent Siemens as a thought leader in Smart Infrastructure through industry engagement, advocacy, and contributions to Federal associations

You will win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ year proven experience identifying and capturing new Federal Civilian Agencies business centered around Facility Related Controls Systems
  • 5+ years of experience in the critical infrastructure market (Construction, design, building automation or electrical products market)
  • 10+ years deep understanding of Federal procurement processes, contract vehicles, and FAR/DFAR compliance
  • 5+ years understanding of Federal Small Business/Disadvantaged Business requirements and socioeconomic classifications
  • 5+ years of knowledge of Systems Integration, IT/OT, IoT, AI, FedRAMP, RMF ATO, cybersecurity, CMMC
  • 5+ years proficiency in Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced engineering degree.

The pay range for this position is $118,300 - $202,800 and is eligible for 25% Annual Incentive Bonus of Base Salary . The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
