Technical Sales Manager

Purpose

The Technical Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing the Technical Sales team, ensuring that technical engagements align with strategic business objectives and the needs of target customer segments. The role collaborates closely with other sales managers, and Sales Acceleration, to integrate technical sales efforts into a cohesive and customer-centric sales strategy driving high-impact revenue growth

Main Responsibilities
  • Mentoring and Leadership & Team Management
  • Leads and develops the Technical Sales team for the target customer segments ensuring strong technical support
  • Manages recruitment, performance evaluation, and career development of Technical Sales team members.
  • Defines team responsibilities, ensuring alignment with strategic sales objectives and customer needs, while balancing technical expertise with business acumen.
  • Ensures team members have the technical and business acumen required for customer engagements
  • Builds a high-performance team culture that fosters innovation and strategic sales execution, cultivating a continuous learning environment where team members stay ahead of technical trends and customer expectations.

Technical Sales Strategy & Execution
  • Contributes to and executes the Technical Sales strategy, ensuring alignment with Siemens' go-to-market approach across all customer segments
  • Ensures technical engagement is positioned as a key differentiator in Siemens’ go-to-market approach.
  • Tracks market trends and customer needs, adapting the technical sales strategy accordingly.
  • Drives a structured and scalable approach to technical customer engagement, ensuring consistency in messaging, solution positioning, and sales enablement.
  • Monitors KPIs to measure technical sales impact on deal velocity, customer success, and solution adoption

Business & Financial Management
  • Steers resource and budget allocation based on business mix target
  • Makes key investment decisions regarding the structure and capability development of the Technical Sales team, optimizing for effectiveness
  • Ensures the efficient and strategic deployment of Technical Sales professionals across the accounts/industries, balancing cost-effectiveness with strategic impact.

Customer & Market Engagement
  • Leads the Technical Sales team in engaging with customers, ensuring strategic alignment with business goals across all segments.
  • Establishes a customer-centric approach, ensuring that technical sales engagements are efficient and drive measurable business value, tailored to the complexity level of the customer's needs.

Internal Collaboration & Compliance
  • Engages closely with other Technical Sales Managers, as well as Managers of Sales Acceleration teams and Sales Managers to combine technical and account perspectives on customer potential.
  • Facilitates regular collaboration with Sales and Account Management to ensure a well-integrated sales approach across all customer segments.
  • Maintains compliance with governance frameworks and ensures that technical engagements adhere to company policies and industry regulations
