Overview
Mastercard is seeking a Head of Business Development to execute on our Acceptance, Retail & Commerce, Transit and Co-brand strategy. The ideal candidate is someone who has extensive experience in business development activities, intellectually curious, analytical, and adept at leading and motivating a high performing team.
Role
• Drive growth in Acceptance, Retail and Commerce and services revenues for Philippines in close collaboration with the country, division and regional teams
• Be responsible for developing Mastercard’s relationships with Banks, FinTech’s, Payment service providers, transit operators and merchants, striking mutually beneficial partnership agreements
• Grow POS locations across the Philippines, especially in areas with high tourist footfalls in partnership with acquirers and fintech’s
• Create a strategy to expand acceptance to under penetrated merchant categories, driving increased acceptance and usage
• Scale low cost acceptance devices i.e. Sound box, Soft POS, pay via link, etc., and build partnerships with Acquirers and merchants to scale MPGS in Philippines
• Scale acceptance in transit across all metros, buses and toll ways, work with concessionaries and other infrastructure operators to build a plan for Transit leadership
• Identify opportunities within the merchant eco-system (Offline and /or Online) to win and defend co-brands or partnership opportunities in the market.
• Help identify, coach and groom top talent and pro-actively develops employees as organizational resources
• Expand adoption of Mastercard technologies by our customers to enable the network effect to bring benefits to everyone in the network
• Focus on driving monetization of existing partnerships with companies in Philippines and executive on identified strategic projects
• Share joint responsibility for delivering on the financial and operational metrics commitment to the regional management

• Experienced and seasoned team leader with passion to set and achieve ambitious vison/goals with team
• Extensive experience within the payments industry, with a proven track record of success in business-to-business relationships
• Confident, proactive and ambitious personality; demonstrated persistence in identifying and resolving issues and developing opportunities and solutions
• Strong strategic and communication skills, both internal and external, with a high level of business and financial acumen
• Extremely proficient in the trends, technology, customer requirements of players in digital economy
• Excellent influencing and customer management skills
• Must encourage teamwork, integration & inclusion
• Ideal candidate would have a management degree, been a people manager, and shouldered responsible for one or more business units.
