We are currently seeking a VP - Distribution & Business Development to join our Affiliate Distribution & Business Development based in our New York, New York office.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Report to and partner with the SVP of Distribution & Business Development to negotiate and execute key affiliate agreements with MVPDs, vMVPDs, and digital platforms, strategically drive streaming growth on various platforms, grow distribution of AMCN FAST channels and collaborate with other members of the Commercial Revenue team to help increase viewership of all AMCN services, drive subscriptions to our streaming services (AMC+, Shudder, Sundance Now, Acorn, ALLBLK and HiDive) and to generally support our efforts with our distribution partners considering AMCN and partner priorities.
Partner with key stakeholders throughout the organization in the implementation of sales and distribution strategies for accounts across all platforms, including ensuring that account counterparts are well informed about AMCN content, offerings and new business opportunities.
Have deep understanding of industry landscape, develop expertise in AMCN products and goals, display creative, strategic thinking, and maintain detailed account summaries.
Identify and assess new business opportunities within new or existing accounts or partners to drive incremental revenue streams or brand awareness.
Collaborate internally with other departments and develop strong relationships including with Partner Management, Finance/Strategy, Marketing, Ad Sales, Product, and Operations.
Manage, oversee, track and measure the results of distribution efforts, contractual compliance, and marketing partnerships and assist in the overall tracking of partner reporting, data collection and analysis for key accounts.
Develop and manage strong working relationships with distribution partners and help represent partner specific strategy to key stakeholders both internally and externally.
Represent AMC Networks as a senior leader and reinforce the value of its brands and services at client meetings and industry events to influence clients and help sell through AMCN’s products to customers.
Monitor, track and communicate industry developments, including:
Announcements of new deals with industry peers and programmers.
Product developments and technological innovations among television distribution outlets (e.g., Comcast, DirecTV, YouTube, Philo, etc.).
New device innovations.
Other relevant industry news.
QUALIFICATIONS (Required & Preferred)
Bachelor’s degree
10+ years of relevant work experience
Strong negotiation skills and ability to navigate and communicate complex legal and business deal terms.
Broad knowledge of the media industry, company organization, policies, and practices.
Excellent knowledge of, with proven experience in, Microsoft Office applications.
Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to interact with all levels of management internally and with clients.
Well organized and detail oriented.
Ability to maintain highest degree of confidentiality and diplomacy.
The base compensation range for this position is $175,000 to $230,000 commensurate with experience.
